We will be ‘Behind the Screen’ at Somerset House

The beautiful Somerset House is hosting a series of specially curated talks that go Behind the Screen to explore the craft of filmmaking to coincide with the Film4 Summer Screen and The Alt Entertainer will be right in the middle of things.

We’ll be there on Thursday 15th August for a talk presented in collaboration with the BFI Gothic Season exploring that most beloved cinematic staple, the ghost story.

Writer and film curator Jasper Sharp will chart the evolution of supernatural gothic in Japanese cinema and culture and try to explain our persistent fascination with these classic tales. We’ll be writing a full review so keep your eyes peeled for that.

Next up on August 21st is a conversation with acclaimed director David Gordon Green. Gordon Green announced his arrival on the world scene thirteen years ago with his debut feature George Washington and has since gone on to mainstream success with the wonderful Pineapple Express. He will be talking about his filmmaking process and his new film Prince Avalanche so it’s sure to be an event that’s not to be missed.

Tickets are going fast for these intriguing discussions so move quickly to avoid disappointment. They’re only £11 each so I’d be very disappointed in all of you if you don’t snap them up fast.  They can be ordered through Somerset House.

We’ll have a review up in no time so keep your browsers locked here. We hope to see some of you there.
