Local London Brewery Sambrook’s is celebrating its fifth birthday this weekend with a day of beer, music and food and we’re going to be there. There is literally no reason why you shouldn’t be too.
The National Trust’s beautiful Morden Hall Park in South London will play host to both sessions of the Beer by the River festival. The 12-5pm session caters for families and will feature entertainment for the kids such as face painting and a petting farm. The 6-11pm event will be adults only and the entertainment reflects that with music from a full card of local acts. Find the full list here.
But let’s not mess around, it is a BEER festival after all. During each sessions Sambrook’s will be offering a full range of their award-winning ales as well as a curated selection of guest beers so if you like a drop, there is nowhere better for the beer connoisseur to be on Saturday. To help keep you in stout enough shape to handle all this drinking will be a barbecue from the award-winning Ginger Pig as well as fish and vegetarian options supplied by beautiful Clapham’s wonderfully named FishClub.
If that doesn’t whet your appetite there’s much, much more to sweeten the deal. Sambrooks will be creating a special one off brew available only at the festival and every ticket holder will get ⅓ pint of the new brew gratis. Need more? You’ll get another full pint of any other beer for free! No one could expect more right? Well you get more so shut up! You also get a £5 voucher to exchange for any food at the festival and a special festival glass. Even the kids are covered as they can have a soft drink and an ice-cream. This sounds like an amazing deal to me so I’m really pretty excited.
Tickets cost just £19 in advance or are £22 on the door. Children under the age of three go completly free (they have all the luck) whilst those over three pay just £5. Seriously, if this doesn’t sound like a good deal to you then I really don’t know what you want.
So come along and have some fun. It really sounds like a great day out. If you can’t make it follow us on twitter and @beerbytheriver and come back next week for the full review.
